Conflict Resolution Workshops |
| TCCR
offers standard 4-day workshops but due to constraints on
the schedule of the settlement or institution and other unavoidable
circumstances we have also given two or three-day workshops.
TCCR gives great importance to proper planning of every workshop.
While planning, the workshop trainers keep in mind the specific
requirements of the particular target group and design the
activities accordingly so as to make the education more meaningful
and helpful for the participants. We keep our designs flexible
and try to incorporate the needs of the participants into
the workshop curriculum.
Till date we have conducted ninety three
(93) workshops on conflict resolution and democratic processes
in most of the vastly scattered Tibetan settlements in India
& Nepal, to NGO’s, educational institutions, monasteries,
nunneries and to college students and have reached out to
more than 2000 participants. Every workshop by the Centre
has been greatly appreciated. The participants have expressed
their support for TCCR and have requested the Centre to conduct
more such workshops in future.

| Here
are some of the feedbacks given to us by the participants |
I am confident
that the future Tibetan community will be more peaceful if every
one of us could practice what we have learned from this Conflict
Resolution Workshop. I am requesting TCCR that in future we
need more workshops especially on this topic not only in college
but also in Tibetan settlement. I also would like to request
to organise such seminar that’s based on Sino-Tibetan
Conflict. I felt the workshop held by your institution at our
place are knowledge-oriented and lamplight for removing the
darkness of ego which is creating unnecessary conflicts in society.
It really deepens my knowledge on conflicts. I hope I’ll
practice it in future.

This workshop
has been very useful for me, as in my work I have to deal with
kids everyday. It seems like I have been in darkness all this
while, I listen to what the kids say in such a way that makes
me sad and angry without being able to tell them nicely how
I felt and trying to understand their feelings. Now I am confident
that I will be much nicer to myself and the kids when a difficult
situation arises. I will try to implement what I have learnt
from you.

I would
like to say that the workshop turned out to be very effective
and enlightening. I only wish the workshop was for a longer
duration of time. Also in my opinion, your good office should
continue with the good work of conducting such workshops in
our society, preferably every now and then. Moreover, I also
feel that it would be really worthwhile if you can make another
trip for our staff and the students. Before I wind up I certainly
would like to say a word about the two of you. You two are simply
too good! You have the calibre to make us feel one and so close
to each other. I would like to thank you for the great time
that we had during these two days.

The education
that the two teachers gave us during these four days regarding
how to communicate in a good way, how to listen and the other
conflict resolution skills were very appealing to me, this will
always remain close to my heart. Due to my participation in
this workshop my perception towards conflicts has changed. I
have realised that I have made so many mistakes in the past,
now I am determined to approach conflicts positively and openly.
And I thank the teachers for being so clear, frank and understanding.

I used to consider
conflicts as a big burden which I can’t even handle, but
today with this workshop, really I felt that conflict is an
easy object which we can handle with some skills of our own
and mindfully.
I felt conflict is a challenge and not at all a big burden.
The most useful topic for me was Non Violent Communication,
I am a girl who never thought of the importance of clear observation
and prefer self evaluation and self judgement on a situation.
But with NVC lesson I was made well aware of my speech and behaviour.
I realise the need of clear observation, it is so essential
in order to be able to communicate your needs to the others.
There is so much logic behind the topics and we have learned
good methods to resolve our problems as well as to lead a happier
life.

This workshop
is very helpful for our community. In future when Tibet will
gain back its independence the skills that are being taught
through this workshop will be of much use in creating a harmonious
Tibetan community. It will help in unifying those Tibetans who
have remained inside Tibet and those Tibetans who have lived
in exile. –

During the workshop
I never got bored, or found anything meaningless. It was cheerful
yet it was educative; I am enriched because of this. I feel
awfully lucky to attend this TCCR workshop. Earlier I was in
doubt that without punishment and scolding how can any teacher
teach his class. It’s impossible.
I was almost on the verge of quitting the job. It’s not
for me—that was what I felt. Then came your workshop…it
answered my doubt. It let me express and search for myself the
solution. I realised, sure, there is a way and I can hold to
this profession. Thank you! –

This workshop
helped me a lot, usually I am a girl who is very short tempered
and very interrupting. Luckily I got such opportunity to learn
how to reduce them. So I’ll try my best to use all the
things which I learned, in my future life. Now I am feeling
fully rested with calm and cool. I really appreciate the way
you teach with so much energy, enthusiasm, interest and life
that it influences us in learning and doing every activity.
Please give this workshop to other TCV school students.
