Youth Empowerment Workshop

Tibetan Centre for Conflict Resolution organized a Youth Empowerment Workshop(YEW) for youth living in settlements of the Dehradun region from 25^th to 29 April. The success of earlier YEW’s for college students and for settlement youth in north-east India and South India has encouraged us to continue with this series and this time we are focusing on the young people in the northern region around Dehradun. 

The workshop aimed at introducing communication skills, listening skills, basic conflict resolution skills and conflict understanding that would empower the young people to manage conflict situations more mindfully and amicably in the future. Our workshop use modern methodologies of teaching involving participation by the participants through discussions, exercises and roleplays. Our earlier workshops have been successful in encouraging the participants to take roles of responsibilities in their settlements and in instilling a higher level of confidence and leadership skills.
